Management Program: Project Coordinator CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT | Lineas

Continuous improvement is the term that really sums up what Lineas is all about. And it is happening at lightning pace. Every day. Tens of change projects are on the agenda at any one time, spread across our whole organisation. That is why we are already a much stronger business today than we were a year ago. But next year, we want to make at least as much progress again. And even more the year after that. What can a Project Coordinator come on board and do amid all that hectic activity? Learn. Learn a lot of new skills. Get to know our company and our industry inside out, and gain a thorough understanding of it. And then contribute your fresh view and clever ideas, so that we keep changing in the right way.

Transporting freight by rail is becoming more important every day. It is a logical development: it is much better for the environment and for mobility than road transport. Moreover, rail is safer and often more efficient.
Lineas is one of the largest European private players in the field of rail freight transport.
We see it as our responsibility to convince businesses to be part of the modal shift: getting goods off the roads and onto the railways. We are achieving that ambition with the best products, innovative services, a large fleet and a lot of passion and commitment to our customers.
We aim to grow and make a real difference at international level.

Objectives of this role

Why are we looking for Continuous Improvement Project Coordinators?

Main tasks
What exactly does that mean in reality?

  • Tackling various projects - Your management program will last 18 to 24 months, and you will switch projects every four to six months. That way you will learn about the whole business, and have a clear picture of how it is run.
  • You will learn a huge number of new things - We will be sending you and your fellow project coördinators (you will soon form a tight-knit group) regularly for training. But we believe that you will learn most of all from your close colleagues and your managers.
  • Moving upwards – During your management program, you will have more and more to do. Whereas at the beginning you will mostly making analyses, after a year you will be more involved in the overall management of projects. At the end of your process, you will be ready to take control of strategic projects yourself and support your colleagues in the business in their change processes. This can be as a full-time project manager or as a promising line manager where continuous improvement is very important.

Profile
Are you suitable for this job?

We are looking for young people with a lot of brain power. Clever people who know that during their first eighteen months, they will have to be like a sponge, absorbing knowledge from all around. That way you will make the most progress, and you will soon have the best qualifications for building a successful career.

We also expect:

  • a master’s degree in a business-related subject or engineering and a maximum of six years' experience;
  • a liking for project management, change management and continuous improvement;
  • a healthy dose of audacity so as to be able to give workshops and coaching;
  • a critical mind and demonstrable experience in teamwork and leadership (in the scouts, a football club, etc.)
  • Great communication skills (in Dutch, French and English)

What can we offer you?

  • You will receive an attractive salary with excellent fringe benefits.
  • From the outset, we will give you thorough in-house training and all the coaching that you need to get started. And afterwards, you will be given every opportunity to develop your talents further.
  • You will be able to work independently and without time constraints - even working occasionally from home or on location if that is more convenient.
  • You would be working in a young, dynamic company. Things are moving ahead fast here, and so there is always a lot of change going on, which will continually open up prospects for your career.
