Senior Operations Controller | Lineas

As the Senior Operations Controller, you are supporting the business unit in achieving financial targets and support business decisions through added value financial analysis. You are also working closely with the Head of FP&A in supporting the CFO in in all financial aspects in terms of reporting, planning, analysis and business understanding from a financial perspective.

Overall Role Purpose:

As the Senior Operations Controller, you are supporting the business unit in achieving financial targets and support business decisions through added value financial analysis. You are also working closely with the Head of FP&A in supporting the CFO in in all financial aspects in terms of reporting, planning, analysis and business understanding from a financial perspective. 
In summary this covers:
  • Business Partner – Support business counterparts (a) in achieving financial targets through in-depth analyses, sharing of key financial insights (standard and ad-hoc reportings) and (b) in taking day to day and strategic business financial decisions. 
  • Reporting and Controlling – Analysis and reporting of financial performance in a timely manner with recommendations where appropriate. This also include periodic reviews with board members and / or cost centers owners.
  • Financial planning – Includes forecasting, estimates and supporting the strategic direction for the country in scope and developing these into short (Forecast), medium (Budget) and long term plans (MTP)
  • Process Improvement – Be source of proposals regarding existing processes improvement and simplication 

Main Tasks & Key Responsibilities:

Business Partner
  • You act as active support to the operations team in the achievement of financial objectives and company commercial strategy
  • You support, improve and, where needed, develop cost and analytical tools with the objective to support business decisions

Reporting & Controlling

  • You analyze the business unit cost performance with the aim to make recommendation to achieve maximum positive impact on the bottom line
  • You provide ad hoc business analyses with valued insight, challenge business and make recommendations based on financial data
  • You create, organize and manage daily, weekly and monthly executive reporting, including financial results as presented to Executive Committee. 
  • You manage, improve and further develop companywide performance dashboard
  • You manage ad-hoc request/projects as requested by the Head of FP&A and the CFO
  • You ensure control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of figures, analysis and comments
Financial Planning
  • You play an active role in the budgeting, forecasting and strategic business plan exercises
  • You evaluate data, prepare forecasts, and analyze trends for P&L forecast
  • You support annual budgeting and forecasting process
Process Support & Improvement
  • Full support on month-end, year-end closing process
  • Be source of proposals with regard to existing processes improvement and simplification

Profile

Required Experience & Qualification:
  • BS/BA in Business Administration or Economics 
  • 5-8 years of experience in a financial role, including a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a controlling role
  • Fluent in English, Dutch and French
  • Strong systems experience and knowledge IT infrastructure / systems processes as well as knowledge in Microsoft Office and BI tools.
