Freight transport by train is becoming more important by the day. Unsurprisingly so, as it is much better for the environment and for mobility than road transport. Added to that, rail is safer and often more efficient.

Why are we looking for a Compensation & Benefits Expert?

Our employees are key to realising Modal Shift. That is why it is essential that our remuneration strategy and remuneration systems support the realisation of this strategy and enable us to quickly respond to the constantly changing internal & external (corporate) context. The HR team is currently working on developing a new remuneration policy and remuneration systems that are in line with the new business requirements and expectations of our employees. To further design and implement this remuneration strategy we are seeking to strengthen our Compensation & Benefits Team.

Core tasks 

What does that mean exactly, in reality?


1.    As Compensation & Benefits expert you will be responsible for certain Compensation & Benefits processes for Belgium and our foreign entities:

  • Implementation and follow-up of the salary process; analysing salary practices, performing internal and external benchmarking and suggesting improvements to improve fairness and with budget impact in mind
  • Rolling out the bonus process for white-collar employees and executives
  • Designing and implementing a new job classification system that supports our new strategy
  • Developing an international remuneration policy and providing support in files regarding international mobility, split pay, etc.
  • Participating in the annual HR budget and interim forecasting process
  • Developing policy guidelines, processes and communication kits to improve the understanding of the remuneration policy among managers and employees
  • Continuously contributing ideas and formulating proposals for making improvements/optimisations in our current remuneration systems
  • Actively following the tax and socio-legal legislation and trends in compensation and benefits to guarantee that our systems are in line with statutory obligations and follow or lead the trends in the market 
  • Coordinating participation in salary studies
  • Preparing C&B topics for social dialogue

2. As C&B project coordinator, implementing strategic projects in close consultation with the stakeholders in Lineas.

Profile
Are you suited to this job?

In the first instance we are looking for an enthusiastic personality with hands-on mentality and skills, plus:

A feel for the C&B context

  • At least five years’ experience in compensation and benefits and/or a consulting environment, preferably experience in an international environment
  • Knowledge of several C&B processes (international mobility, job classification, benchmark studies, etc.)
  • Knowledge of socio-legal legislation

A strong analytical mindset ready to move C&B projects forward

  • Experience in Project Management
  • Strong out-of-the box/creative mindset
  • You like change and are results-orientated
  • You are customer-orientated and have good communication skills

And the required knowledge to quickly play a part in our HR team:

  • Knowledge of NL/FR/ENG
  • Masters in the field of HR, Law or Economics
  • Good knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
